Regions 202020 Network Member(s) Organising Event:

The main objective of the 1. ENNEREG Regio-Forum was to improve the regional networking of local/regional public authorities, private energy companies, ESCOs and NGOs in the field of energy and climate policy. It specifically addressed actors interested in developing Sustainable Energy Action Plans and planning Sustainable Energy Projects. The main target groups of the event were representatives of the local and regional administration.

This regional workshop was divided into three parts, see the Presentations below for further details:

  • General introduction and information on ENNEREG project, current status of work, presentation on experience of City of Neumarkt (as patron of 1. ENNEREG Regio-Forum) with energy projects under the Climate Alliance and the Covenant of Mayors
  • Workshop 1 “Sustainable Energy Action Plans and Energy Concepts”
  • Workshop 2 “Financing of Sustainable Energy Projects

Conclusions: The 1st regional workshop was a great success with more than 30 participants. High-level experts of German funding organizations in the field of climate policy (e.g. National Climate Initiative, DIFU) as well as of financial organizations (e.g. BayernLB) were won to provide first hand expertise in funding the development of sustainable energy actions plans and projects. Additionally, regional experts presented their best practice experience in these issues in order to inform participants about the benefits of investing in respective projects. Due to the excellent premises offered by the patron of the event, the City of Neumarkt as only current regional signatory of the Covenant of Mayors, the participants had the opportunity for intensive discussion as part of a “Get together” session. The evaluation indicated that the topics and presentations were very interesting and helpful for the participants. Stakeholders of the event were specifically inspired to intensify their efforts in tapping the regional potential of wind energy.

Venue: City of Neumarkt i. d. OPf., Festsäle der Residenz, Germany

Target Audience: Region of Upper Palatinate, Germany, Local / Regional Public Administration, Private Energy Sector, NGOs in environmental and energy policy. All interested Parties, but main focus is on representative of local and regional administrations and on other potential investors of Sustainable Energy Projects.
