Summary
Certified European Passive House Designer
It is well known that new buildings can be designed with a much lower consumption consumption compared to buildings that were designed in a conventional manner. Significantly more than 10,000 Passive Houses have already been built throughout Europe. These are buildings with a heating energy requirement about one-tenth of the energy compared to the average building stock.
The quality requirements for the Passive House standard have been compiled some years ago and have been published on the internet under free access. In addition several planning tools, such as the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP), which you can acquire at the Passive House Institute, Darmstad, have been developed several planning tools.
However, these tools cannot replace careful designers and architects since passive house designers need a profound understanding of the associated technical background, but they will make their work much easier. This website indicates how the required skills may be developed and certification as a passive house designer aquired.
